Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Aggregate Surveyor with expertise in utilizing drones and a strong commitment to Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) practices.
As an Aggregate Surveyor, you will play a key role in our company's operations by conducting accurate and comprehensive surveys of aggregate sites and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Your proficiency in drone technology and EHS knowledge will be crucial in this position.
Roles and
Responsibilities:
Conduct detailed surveys and measurements of aggregate sites using advanced surveying equipment and techniques.
Utilize drones and aerial mapping technology to capture high-resolution images, collect data, and create 3D models of the aggregate sites.
Analyze survey data and prepare reports, maps, and drawings to communicate findings and support decision-making processes.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to assess the suitability of sites for aggregate extraction and identify potential risks or issues.
Assist in the planning and design of aggregate extraction operations, considering factors such as topography, access, and environmental impact.
Ensure compliance with EHS regulations and company policies throughout the surveying and extraction processes.
Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identifications at aggregate sites.
Implement and monitor safety procedures and protocols to minimize accidents, injuries, and environmental impact.
Provide training and guidance to site personnel on EHS best practices and safe operating procedures.
Stay up to date with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to surveying, drones, and EHS practices.
Follow all safe work practices while performing all duties.
Competencies Proven experience as a Surveyor, preferably in the aggregate or mining industry.
Proficiency in using surveying instruments, GPS equipment, and drone technology for data collection and mapping.
Strong knowledge of land surveying principles, techniques, and methodologies.
Familiarity with software applications for data processing and survey analysis.
Solid understanding of EHS regulations and practices, with a focus on mining or aggregate extraction operations.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in survey measurements and data analysis.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Willingness to travel to various work sites and occasionally work in outdoor and challenging environments.
Qualifications:
High school education or GED equivalent.
Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Experience within the Aggregates and/or Construction industry.
Valid driver's license required.
